Citizens Invite Colorado Springs City Council to Public Discussion on Project Taurus

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.

– Concerned citizens of Colorado Springs will gather on the steps of City Hall on Tuesday, June 23, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to voice concerns regarding the approval process for Project Taurus, the proposed AI data center located at 1565 High Tech Way, Colorado Springs, CO 80907.

Following the cancellation of the regularly scheduled City Council meeting, community members are extending an open invitation to all Colorado Springs City Council members to attend, listen to residents’ concerns, and engage in a public discussion about the project and its potential impact on the community.

Residents have identified several key issues they hope to address, including potential increases in utility costs, economic impacts related to local employment and tax burdens, environmental concerns affecting Garden of the Gods and surrounding areas, noise impacts from ongoing facility operations, severe loss in property valuation for local residents, and the project’s anticipated water consumption in a region which continues to face ongoing drought conditions.

Organizers emphasize the gathering is intended to provide a respectful, public forum where residents can ask questions, share information, and encourage greater transparency regarding decisions which may have long-term consequences for Colorado Springs. The organizing group, No Data Center COS, is planning to file an appeal prior to the 5:00 pm deadline on June 22, 2026.
